Job Description

The Mortgage Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of mortgage loan operations, including processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing. This individual will manage and mentor operations staff, maintain pipeline efficiency, ensure compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines, and drive service-level performance.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage operations, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Deep understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, and Jumbo loan programs and guidelines.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass, Empower) and compliance software.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state lending regulations (TRID, RESPA, HMDA, etc.).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the loan pipeline, ensuring timely and compliant processing, underwriting, closing, and funding.
  • Lead, train, and support a team of processors, underwriters, and closers to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Collaborate with Loan Officers, Sales Managers, and Senior Leadership to troubleshoot pipeline issues and improve customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain operational policies, workflows, and service level expectations.
  • Monitor regulatory and investor compliance, including QC and audit requirements.
  • Implement and manage technology tools (LOS, AUS, compliance systems) to optimize productivity.
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline status, turn times, and operational KPIs
